Analogue Project- Shutter speed, Aperture, 35mm camera

shutter speed

What is shutter speed and why is it important?

Shutter speed is how fast or slow the shutter can capture an image also shutter speed is important because if you are photographing a motorbike race then you need a shutter speed as fast as 1000th of a second, which gives the best image as there would not be any blur from the speed of the bike as the shutter speed is so quick it captures the moving bike and makes it look like it is still.

Depending on what you are photo graphing depends on how fast or slow the shutter speed has to be for example if something is moving fast like an F1 car then you would need a fast shutter speed but if you were photographing a light trail then you would set the camera shutter speed to 30 seconds which would record everything done within that frame and turn it into a still image.

35mm camera

An example of a 35mm camera would be the Pentax K1000

This camera is a film camera and depending on the film you put in depends on the setting and the amount of frames you have to fill for example I used this camera with a 400 film which gave me 24 shots.

Also this camera requires you to focus the image yourself where as digital cameras focus for you which are known as "point and shoot" cameras.

Aperture

what is Aperture and why is it important?

The aperture is important as the aperture settings can under or over expose your image if it is not on the correct setting, the aperture also contributes to the focusing of an image.
