Analogue Project-Shutter Speed.

The shutter speed is important in photography because depending on what you are photographing depends on how fast or slow you need the shutter speed to be.

If you are photographing something fast like a motorbike race then you will need your shutter speed on 1000th of a second and the image will be a still image.

If you want to make light trails then you will keep the shutter open for 30 seconds and then the anything done in front of the lens will be recorded but it will be shown as a still image.

long shutter speed

A long shutter speed records everything done in front of the camera within the set time e.g. 30 seconds and it is made into a still image but it shows movement due to the way the lights are shown from vehicles.

Short Shutter speed.

A short shutter speed captures the image as quick as 1000th of a second.

1000th of a second captures the image that the human eye would miss, if you pop a bubble your eye would miss the detail in the pop were as the camera set to a fast shutter speed can capture it.
