For my documentary on location I have chosen to photograph reflections within puddles, i found inspiration when walking home and saw the street light reflections and car reflections within the puddles.
I used the puddles as an opportunity to do my documentary series.
I started to research photographers who did water reflections in black and white.
Most reflections are shot from head height so I decided to shoot my own images from a low perspective to put my own spin on to the theme.
As well as water reflections I will also be doing an after dark series, for inspiration I will be looking at Brassai and Todd Hido.
This is an example of lamp post reflections that I got from google images.

These are the photographs that i took when focusing on reflections.

In order for my photographs to look similar to Brassai`s work then I would edit it to black and white and i would take my photographs from a higher perspective.
Brassai`s work.

Brassai shot his photographs on film so they were printed in black and white, i took inspiration from Brassai and did reflections however i decided to make my own version of this topic and took my photographs from a low perspective e.g. Place the camera on the curb and use it as it a tripod.
These photographs are my own but edited into black and white which was Brassai`s style of photographs.

Todd Hido's work.
These photographs are from a series that Hido did called "Art of Darkness"

In order for my photographs to look similar to Todd Hido`s work then i would have to find a house that is a firm distance from other houses and wait for misty/foggy weather to occur.
I tried to replicate Todd`s work but could not get close enough to the house due to it being abandoned and protected by a gate.

I changed the image to black and white and added a cinematic boarder to create an eerie atmosphere, also by crouching into a low perspective it gives the photograph more depth.
