Studio Advertising- planning and producing.

For my advertising project I have decided to photograph my guitar, because I have a passion for music and I have never photographed my guitar before so that is why I chose it.

Planning.

I will be using these photographs as inspiration for the advertising of my guitar.

A guitar has been photographed multiple times and I want to aim to create something different to what has been done by many people.

One idea is to get someone to model with the guitar and some shots of them doing different poses with the guitar and then do light trails around them for the final few shots.

First photo-shoot planning.

For my first photo-shoot I plan to take inspiration from the images shown below, I also want to use a macro lens to capture the small details that are on the guitar.

I plan to use a snoot to create atmosphere but by using a snoot I can shine the light directly where I want lighting up.

Second photo-shoot planning.

For my second photo-shoot I plan to bring in models to advertise my guitar, I plan to get natural facial expressions rather than a "posed look."

I plan to use a different light set up to my first photo-shoot lighting.

I plan to take photographs from different perspectives to create a variety of photographs.

The photographs shown below are a few of the shots I took during the first photo-shoot that I did.

The first image is a light trail, i took inspiration from the first set of images shown, I found the first three images on Google images when researching how other people photographed their guitars.

The second and third image from my shoot were photographed using a macro lens as I want to focus on the small details of the guitar, I photographed the strings that go across the main body of the guitar, I then lay my guitar flat and photographed the "Bridge" of the guitar which is where the strings are aligned and knotted in place.

I then booked the Studio a second time and planned to bring in models, the images below are a few shots from that shoot.

When I had the models in the studio, I wanted to capture natural expressions as shown in the first two photographs, both models were posed but I had the camera ready for when they broke out of the pose and had natural expressions e.g. when they laughed or smiled, the last photograph shows the guitar being held upside down, I chose this pose because I didn't want my advertisement to be taken as a very serious shoot, I wanted to go in the studio and create something new and I did, the first image was taken from a lower angle as I crouched to get the correct angle, the second angle was taken from a higher perspective than the first as this shot was taken from head height however I was not fully stood up, the third photograph was taken from a higher angle from the rest as the models laying on the floor and the last shot was taken from the same perspective as the second photograph.

For some images I used a snoot light to create atmosphere within the image but I then changed to a beauty dish to create a "lighter" image which also made the models faces look softer, in the image you can see i also used a soft box which also made the models face lighter, whilst using the snoot light and the soft box I was also mixing hard and soft light.
