RED
Following the theme of red I decided to photograph a red note pad, whilst photographing this my thoughts were that a note pad is useful and efficient for jotting things down, writing a list or in my case writing or planning stories or writing down my thought process.
Success
When thinking about success was, how people are passionate and can become successful with music so I took photographs of a musical instrument that I have, people maybe passionate about music because they may find it as a way to "escape" reality or they use it as a way to find themselves or express themselves.
DESIGN
When thinking about design I decided to take photographs of the Painting and decorating course, I did this because the students decide how they want their "bay" to look and they do this by choosing what color paint they want to use and what wallpaper they want to use..this gives them the ability to have their bay the way they designed to be.. whilst talking to some of the students on the Painting and decorating course they allowed me to photograph how they lay the wall paper on the table and also allowed me to photograph the wall paper paste being applied..I then photographed where they store their paint cans.
STYLE
whilst thinking about style I thought about how people wear accessories with their outfits and this ring is an example as it is worn by people in the LGBT community to show that they are LGBT and are choosing to show that confidently by wearing the ring, the LGBT flag can be printed onto anything such as t-shirts, hoodies or other accessories such as dog tags, earrings or a bracelet, which by a person wearing any accessory with the LGBT flag is their way of showing people that they are apart of the community and are comfortable showing that they are.
whilst thinking about different styles I thought about how chains can be worn either around the neck or be worn by being looped around a belt hoop so it dangles down, this chain with a (deactivated) bullet attached is a military chain but also follows a punk style especially if worn with ripped jeans which are also considered a punk style, I photographed this as a punk/military style is considered diverse to the types of styles that are more popular for example a popular style maybe jeans and a plain hoodie/jacket, another style which is considered to be more popular is either jeans and a patterned t-shirt or a tracksuit.
Passion
When following the theme of passion I decided to photograph the bar I work at because that is something I am personally passionate about, my thoughts about working on a bar is that you get to know more people from serving them their drinks, whilst working with another member of staff who previously owned a bar he said that whilst he owned it, he said that it was
"the best experience I could have ever wanted and I'd do it again if I had the chance" and he showed he was passionate as he also said that he "couldn't see" himself doing any other job other than bar work as he said "as soon as I got my first bar job, I just felt much happier and I couldn't be as confident around people now if it wasn't for doing bar work for so long".
